This Old House longtime cast, Roger Cook, passed away on August 21, 2024, after battling with an undisclosed illness for a long time. His wife, Kathleen Ellen Cook, who preceded him in passing, tied the knot with him over three decades ago.
Roger’s wife, Kathleen Ellen Cook (nee Gulde), reportedly succumbed to cancer on December 1, 2010, at the age of 56 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
TV personality Roger Cook and his wife, Kathleen Cook, tied the knot in 1979. They shared two children, a son, Jason Roger Cook, and a daughter, Molly Elizabeth Cook.
Reportedly, Roger and Kathleen crossed paths during college but didn’t date until after graduation.
Born to her parents, John “Jack” Gulde and Kay Gulde, as one of five children, Kathleen reportedly spent her entire life in Burlington.
She had three sisters, Cheryl Hansen, Carol Cammon, and Mary Biagiotti, and a brother, John “Jack” Gulde Jr.
Her father, John Gulde, got her into the insurance business. She learned the business while working with her father at Gulde Insurance Company.
Eventually, Kathleen initiated her own insurance business, Gulde-Cook Insurance Company. Likewise, she also co-owned K&R Tree and Landscape Company with her husband, Roger.

The power couple dated for several years before walking down the aisle. They had a blissful marital life and stayed committed to each other until their last breath.

Their son, Jason Roger Cook, is a Vice President at Appleton Partners, Inc. in the Greater Boston Area.
Jason, a Harvard University graduate, was previously a Principal at Hercules Technology Growth Capital from September 2008 until August 2011.
He graduated from Boston College-Wallace E. Carroll Graduate School of Management in 2013.
Jason is now married to his wife, Anna Labowsky Cook, a physician at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Anna and Jason are parents to their three sons, Peter, Noah, and James Cook.
Their daughter, Molly Cook, is a Boston Children’s Hospital registered nurse. She previously worked as a staff registered nurse at Franciscan Hospital for Children.
Molly, a Suffolk University Law School graduate, appears to be single. That said, it remains unknown if she is married.
She took to Facebook to write an eulogy after her father, Roger, passed away on August 21, 2024. In the post, she wrote,
I am beyond grateful for everything he has taught me and the morals he has instilled in me. I will always be daddy’s little girl.
Meanwhile, we offer our heartfelt condolence to Roger’s children and extended family during the ordeal.
