Hadley Duvall’s Stepfather, Jeremy Whitledge, is Currently Serving a 20-year Sentence
Regarding her parents, her stepfather, Jeremy Whitledge, was the one who SA her. However, information about her biological father is not publicly available.
Jeremy Whitledge attempted to frame a neighbor boy for his wrongful act. He tried to shift the blame by claiming the neighbor was responsible for the act.
Additionally, he took Hadley to Louisville to have an abortion, further complicating the situation and attempting to cover up his wrongful deeds.
Later on, her stepfather was apprehended for 20 years and faced legal consequences for his actions.
In 2019, Jeremy expressed his guilt and wrote:
“Because of my weakness, I failed as her father, I failed as her protector.”
Hadley Duvall’s Silent Struggle and The Fear of Shattering a Family
Duvall feared that revealing the truth to her mother would destroy the image of a perfect family that others perceived.
She recalled that her parents attended cheerleading competitions and celebrated Christmas at her stepfather’s house.
Additionally, she and her parents went on family vacations, creating the appearance of a normal, happy family that she didn’t want to disrupt.
However, the reality was much darker. Duvall’s attempts to shield her family from societal judgment resulted in her own suffering and years of trauma.
Two years after the miscarriage, in 2017, Duvall finally shared her story during a drive home from school with her mother, Jennifer Adkins Miller, who struggled with substance abuse.
She first texted her mother from school and later on confessed:
“I couldn’t even look at her. And I said, ‘Mom, I don’t know how to say this to you. I’m just gonna blurt it out. And I did. I said, I’ve been sexually abused for 10 years.”
Her mother, who was unaware of this abuse, was deeply affected by the revelation of the abuse by her then-husband, Jeremy.
The situation was extremely challenging for her as her partner had committed such a monstrous act against her daughter.
