She told officers that he had taken her car the night before and left her stranded.

Eventually, it was discovered that the car he was driving had been stolen from his first victim, Kristine Melton, that day after taking her life.

In the viral body cam footage, Wade is seen discussing with an officer who was trying to apprehend him after Melissa reported an attack by him.
Despite being told to stay put, the defendant flew away from the scene. However, later that day, he was found at another location where he had broken into a house.
Wade was eventually apprehended after his father, Steven Testasecca, convinced him to surrender to the police.
